Digoxin 0.25 mg 50 tablets

DIGOXIN 0.25 mg

Each package contains 50 tablets.

  • Active ingredient: Digoxin 0.25 mg.

Digoxin is one of the primary medications used in the treatment of heart failure. It can be used alone, but it is usually prescribed with other medications. By treating heart failure, Digoxin improves the strength of the heart and makes it easier to perform physical activities. Digoxin can also be used to treat certain types of irregular heartbeat, such as chronic atrial fibrillation. It can reduce your risk of having a stroke, heart attack, or blood clots.

Patients with ventricular fibrillation or with a known hypersensitivity to digoxin should not take Digoxin, as Digitalis glycosides are contraindicated with these conditions. If the patient has had a reaction to any digitalis preparations, then do not administer Digoxin without first consulting a physician.

Adverse reactions

Digoxin can have multifarious side effects. The most serious side effects are ventricular arrhythmias with or without a complete atrioventricular block, changes in mood, or changes in mental alertness; however, these rarely occur. Some of the less serious side effects include, but are not limited to: loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and dizziness.
